How To Create A New Folder

Knowing how to create a new folder is very useful for organizing files that you want to keep on your computer.

Let's say your friend has sent you an email with some pictures attached that you would like to save.

You want to save the pictures in a folder that you can easily find later.

You could create a new folder like this;

Click your Start button.

Click 'My Documents'.

Click 'My Pictures'.

From the top Menu, click 'File',

Hover your mouse over 'New',

click 'Folder'.

The new folder will be created and will probably appear below all of your other existing files and folders.

The name 'New Folder' will probably already be highlighted which will allow you to just type the name you would like to give this new folder.

If the text 'New Folder' is not highlighted, right click on this text and click 'Rename' from the menu.

The text 'New Folder' will now be highlighted so you can type the in the name of the new folder you just created.

Hit enter on your keyboard and the name will be saved.

Now you can go back to your friend's email and save the pictures in the new folder.
